this is a really good idea, i like the idea of putting RSS feeds from social medias and websites all together. I only have one RSS feed for my website but I'd like to add to my feed reader so if more people posted like, twitter feeds or whatever to their websites I could keep up to date without actually using twitter

Very good points and thanks for the further reading links!! I definitely think there has to be more accountability towards the people actively making and "improving" those systems; They did not spawn out of thin air, and they are not being used mindlessly. It is all very much deliberate.

The cycle of lows and highs is also important to verbalize, thank you. FOMO with social media is so so so common but there's also just the fact that once you integrate those platforms into your routine, it gets harder and harder to UN-integrate them (I don't think that's a word, but you get what i mean haha).

I've been having that problem with Twitter, even though I now am consciously aware that I just seek it out for a "quick hit" of dopamine or whatever. The endless stream of content, rage-bait, and colorful art makes it easy to get sucked in. I've been getting better at resisting that temptation but the fact that it's there in the first place really reminds me of how prevalent this problem is; and how it's by design, not by any personal moral flaw on my end.

I really need to start using both tbh.. I just apply float:left and float:right to basically everything haha.

oh mods like this (shell and screen) are some of the easiest!! heres a few links I use for sourcing parts (I am US based, though); if you're not familiar with soldering, the GBC has a really easy drop-in kit available (forget which site exactly but the drop-ins are labeled as such), and iirc the DMG (original gameboy) and GBA can also be done with no/minimal soldering! The parts sites also have guides available.

eBay, Aliexpress, and Etsy have also given me good luck with colors, patterns, etc that aren't available in the main sites, though the quality can be hit-or-miss. The most expensive part you're going to want is definitely the screen; IPS screen mods are the common ones that can be drop-in/no solder, but they also sell cheaper mods that involve modifying your pre-existing screen. I've... had trouble with those just because it requires a lot more patience haha.

Just remember to have isopropyl alcohol on hand for cleaning and use the screws that come with the new casing if you go that route; OEM screws are normally too big for the custom shells and can strip the threads!

This is super interesting! I think the thing I like most about the carbon ads is how, on top of a standard ad graphic, it tells you exactly what the thing being advertised is in a little description.. I know some companies use the "I wonder what this is" factor to get clicks but I think the way carbon ads does it is a lot more ethical and useful for everyone involved haha
